This week I want to talk to you about physically traumatic events and what they can mean for your body. While we often talk about car accidents, there are other things that can really cause some damage to your bodies, even if it is something planned. Here at Wirth, we never want to seem like we are “fear mongering”, but we want you to be able to make the most informed decisions about what will happen to you. This means that even things like medical procedures need to be looked at from multiple perspectives in order for you to make the best decision about your health.
There are many different things that can be considered physically traumatic even if they aren’t sudden or surprising. This can include things like surgeries or childbirth. Normally these are things that are planned or at least expected around a certain time. It may seem odd to call these procedures traumatic, but when you think about it away from the connotation of the word, it is true. Traumatic means that something was disturbing or distressing and if you have seen the immediate results of surgery then you know it can definitely be distressing to the body. Whenever something is physically distressing, you will likely have pain that follows. While chiropractic care may not be able to help with the direct pain depending on the cause, we can definitely help with any joint pain that you experience as a result of your body tensing up in response to that pain.
Chiropractic care is a non-invasive and medication free way of dealing with pain and other issues that may be experienced in your body. While we understand that things like surgery and medication have their place in the medical world, we prefer to work without them. It is important to remember that your body goes through a lot from day to day. You should always do everything you can to keep it in the best shape possible. This may include coming into Wirth for chiropractic care in order to deal with pain that you have experienced since a physically traumatic event. We want to help you get back on your feet quickly but you need to give us a call before we can. If you have had something physically traumatic happen to you, come in and see how much better you feel after a spinal adjustment!
