This week I want to talk to you about eating right. It can be difficult when you are coming off of the holidays, but sometimes it needs to be done. There are a bunch of tips that you can follow to make sure that you start cutting back down in the new year, so here are a few of them to help you either lose weight or keep a healthy one while you prepare for swimsuit season.
1. Food Tracker Apps. Since almost everyone has a smartphone these days, this is one of the most popular methods of keeping track of your food intake. These apps are extremely popular and can help people lose weight like you wouldn’t believe! Some apps like My Fitness Pal and FatSecret can track your calories, write out your exercise plan, and even scan in foods to get the nutrition information right from the package. These often help people to not only get the weight off, but keep it off longer.
2. Food Journals. The more “old school” method may be better if you don’t have a smart phone or simply don’t like carrying it around and pulling it out at mealtimes. Having a paper journal has helped people for many years and there’s no reason to mess with a winning system! Talk to your doctor (or chiropractor) and see what the best diet plan and layout is for you.
3. Bring Your Own Plate. This may seem odd when you are heading over to a friend’s house for some food, but bringing your own plate to fill can help you cut down on what you eat. If you are trying to portion correctly, you may want to mark off how much you should take of what food group and this can be easier to do with a plate you already know the size of. It also cuts down on disposable waste, so it can help the environment too!
Losing weight and keeping the weight off is never easy. It is even more difficult when you feel like you have to bulk up to survive the winter! While we know that it can be difficult to cut down on what you eat or eat healthier, we know you can do it. Talk with your doctor to see what the best method to weight loss would be for you and remember that we wish you luck! Come into Wirth Chiropractic today!
