This week I wanted to touch on a few different things, but especially in regards to children. There is a huge misconception that children shouldn’t go to a chiropractor before a certain age, but this simply isn’t true. People are understandably worried about their kids and want the best for them. The great thing is, that’s all we want too! Here at Wirth, we love children and are always excited to see them come in. We know how active kids can get and how easily they can get hurt. Having chiropractic care from a young age not only helps to prevent pains that can stop kids from running around, but can actually help to correct some issues that they may have been born with.
Children are incredibly resilient. Falls and tumbles that we cringe at are met by the child jumping up and laughing that they want to do it again. The same is true with many psychological events that may occur in their lives. It always amazes me to see what children can go through and come out on the other side either still strong or completely untouched. While physical traumas such as injuries or accidents don’t always allow kids to bounce back, their drive to get back to what they love is an inspiration to each and every one of us here at Wirth. Everything that we can do to help a child get up and running again is what we love to do the most.
Sometimes, children are born with certain disorders or develop them young. Much like cancer, early detection is key. If you feel like there is something wrong with your child, pursue it. Unfortunately, many doctors will brush aside certain actions or mannerisms that children may have. This is especially true if you are a first time parent. However, often that instinct is correct. At Wirth, we understand that some things may not be noticeable to us, but you live with the child and know their normal actions. If you say that something is wrong, we have no reason not to believe you.
If you have a child of any age, feel free to bring them into Wirth Chiropractic in Greenville, NC for a spinal adjustment and anything else they may need. We certainly would love to see them!
